Gang, A friend and occasional assistant has Maxum system with nice 80-200 f/2.8 lens. It has taken a beating, but he can't afford to fix or replace it (guess I should pay him more!). The lens barrel actually comes apart, so you have to have a hand on it or keep it upright. But last year he was photographing the hydroplane boats in SD with this lens and has a sequence of Miss Budweiser disintegrating. He had a feeling something was going to happen he said, but all the other photographers were looking the other way and only he got about a 8 frame sequence. Allsport distributed the image and it was published in a book on best sports photographs of l996. Since Allsport has never paid him, the lens still is in pieces, but working fine--as long as he holds the barrel together. Donal Philby San Diego
