My second M2 came to me via my landlord one day while I was visiting him for an unrelated matter. Upon seeing this camera with a collapsible 50mm Summicron on his table and knowing his 'hobby' of visiting the flea markets and junk shops in Chicago, I asked if this camera was for sale? Yes, he said and told me of his good fortune in finding this gem. This camera was in the bottom of a bin of stuff, totally encased in mud and muck, looking like all of $15 worth of junk, which is what he supposedly paid for it. He, cleaned it as best he could which was pretty darn good. the aperture was a little stiff and the finder was a little out of whack and the leather was missing in a few places but all in all it was in good to fine condition, all the shutter speeds worked the glass was clear, the insides never received the beating the outside did, and I bought it from him for ten times what he paid for it. $28 later after a check-up and finder calibration, I was Leica-new person again! Talk about a camera with a history! Todd Jacobs Chicago
