I just wanted to say you have what I consider the >"perfect" m kit. Hi Mike, You're right on the ball, because I just added the Notes page late = Tuesday night. It's about time I updated my pages. I'll be adding = more photos soon. (Hope you don't mind that I cc'd this reply to the = list!) > I have two M-6's, a chrome and a black ( Kodachrome 25 >in the "chrome" m and B&W in the "black" m; clever, huh?) >with the 35/2,50/2, and 90/2.8. My next lens will probably be the 28 >and then the 21 (sigh, need that Lottery win!) I only bought one body and lens new-the M4-P and the 50mm Summicron. = All the rest I bought used. I was lucky enough to find an M6, 35mm, = and 90mm (my second 90mm, which I promptly sold) all in mint = condition, which I bought locally from someone who had bought them to = collect and then had to sell! Occasionally there is some justice. I've thought of replacing the M4-P with another M6. Having the built = in meter is a real convenience, even if my M6's meter seems to = underexpose by a half a stop. That's easy to correct for, but = disconcerting. I wonder if it can be fixed easily? A note on the 28mm Elmarit. It has to be the finest lens I've ever = used for 35mm. Sharp does not begin to describe this lens. It gives a = wonderful impression of the light, atmosphere, and the shape and = contours of the subject. It has that Leica "Bokeh" (??!), if any lens = does. It says Leitz Canada on the front, ser.# 2524***. I also have a = Leitz brightline viewfinder for this focal lenght. Looking through it = is amazing-it seems noticably brighter than reality, which I suppose = has to do with the coatings on it. I've never been a fan of the 28mm focal length, but for years it was = the only wide lens I had. The M4-P and a 50mm, were first, followed = shortly thereafter by the 28mm. 28mm seems not wide enough for = interior use, and a little too wide for casual shooting (for which I = prefer the 35mm). On my Nikons, I use a 24mm every day. To me, it's the ideal lens-the = one indespensible focal length. But, I did get used to the 28 when it = was all I had. Now Leica has a 24! I'll do without it, though, since = I acquired a 21mm which gives me a true wide angle (to my eye, wide = does not even begin until 24mm). I don't think I would buy any more "new" Leica gear. The price = premium for the new stuff is outrageous. Look for used stuff = =8Bthere's a ton of it- with perfect glass, and working mechanicals. - -Jack Milton =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D Many hands make light work.
