I think it was Harrison talking about Nepal being by neighbourhood and that it becomes common place - he is so right! I have been here for about 4 1/2 years now and at times I need something to shake me up and start looking again. Last week an artist friend came in from Bangkok to spend some time with us and I took her on long tours of my neighbourhood. Because this was her first trip here everything was new and excting and it got me going again. I used more film the week she was here than I normally do. Living here, rather than being a tourist here, means that you also have to look after the everday details as well and that can alter your vision of a place. At times it is difficult to be thinking of photography when you are stuck in traffic trying to get to the other side of town. Most of the time I am quite happy here although there are days when I would get on the next plane out of here. The valley itself is becoming to crowded and polluted. Ian Stanley, Kathmandu, Nepal
