The NOOKY is not fixed focus. Your Elmar 50 in collapsed position exposes mini-bayonet flanges at the end of the lens tube. These lock into the NOOKY and decouple the Elmar's focusing mount. The camera's range/view finders (on all II & III models except G) are automatically compensated so that focus is done normally via the range finder and focusing lever on the NOOKY. I have found that stopping down to at least f8 gives best results. Reproduction ratios engraved on the NOOKY are quite accurate. Good luck and let us know how you fare.
