After fifty-plus years in the hobby, I'm just now wading into Loch
Leica, so I am "iggerant" of many finer points (not to mention a
'monster' out in the deep!)
I need a *user-friendly* polarizer for my IIIf rd/st mit 50
Summicron. Is the 13352 what I need? If so, what can I expect to pay (IF
one can be located)? Is this one of the "swingaway"s?
Talked on the phone with one of the Tillis's at Woodmere Camera
about this. He said a used swingaway he had just sold (for $199) was for
M Summicrons and pinch-clamped around the lens (similar to the barndoor
shades) but should work with a TM 'Cron. When I expressed wonder at the
price, he laughed and said they were $450 new. For one (veddy fancy)
filter.
Polarizers with SLRs are easy to manage, but with RF cameras much
less so, or so I'm finding.
Tried an old Kodak pola with the little secondary pola on the end of the
plastic handle. Pretty clumsy. The swingaway-cum-shade sounds like a
better idea.
Comment? Advice?
