Speaking about the 2.8 50mm Elmar brings to mind the SOMKY. This was an
optical viewer and close-up focusing device designed for this Elmar that
permitted accurate focus and framing for the hand held Leica M3 down to a 7"
X 10" area. 

I wonder whether the new 2.8 50mm Leica lens would work with the SOMKY.
