So I was thinking of getting the > Konica Hexar as opposed to a new 35mm. It's cheaper for one thing. I bought one last december when I was in Washington. I've only a limited experience, as I made a couple of rolls (B&W and slides). My impression is that the lens is _very_ good. I have not compared it with my Summicron, I mean taking the same shots, but I've developed the rolls in the same way as I do for those taken with leica and I got similar results. The meter is OK. I cannot detect any flaw in the quality on 18x24 (cm!) prints, nor any significative difference from what I would expect (it is not a serious comparison!). It is extremely silent and rugged. The only two problems are the maximum shutter speed (1/250) and the autofocus, which I do not like, not because it is not accurate but because I prefer using manual focusing. From my point of view is a extremely good camera. I paid it (used) 350$ which is nothing. I use it as light camera to bring with when the R system is too heavy. I strongly recommed it. - -francesco - -------------------------------------------------------------------- Francesco Ricci, IRST, Loc.
