I use my Nikon FTN and Pentax SV regularly, and cameras that I plan to aquire in the future aren't necesarily brand new either (Canon P). I would like Leica to follow Hassablads model of producing both classic mechanical cameras, and advanced automated cameras which are both based on the same platform. Leica alone of the major precision 35mm camera makers has focused on a top of the line mechanical camera, and I think that's why Leica users are so demanding, if Leica quality goes down they have nowhere to go. Just like the 500C, the M platform has been just about completely developed. And like the 500C I expect that their will be a small steady demand for the camera. Their is no reason that the Leica 'Electronic' M couldn't be modular in construction, just like military electronics. It's more expensive, but it's servicable (and upgrade-able) almost indefinetly. If someone wants a state of the art, inexpensive, short lived electronic camera they already have many choices; Leica is and hopefully will continue to be something different. Regards, Mark :)
