When I go back and read old Leica literature it appears they were aiming their cameras at everyone, especially the common person who wanted to record their daily lives, family fun, vacations, events, etc. They promoted their camera as a high quality product that provided ease of use for the nontechnical types of the day. Most of their ads over the years seem to be aimed at this same field of people and only made reference to the fact that they were also used by many photojournalists, as a promotional venture the way I see it, not as the main market.
