I'm the one who originally posted that I thought I saw the bottom right corner of the image to be out of focus in my version of the lens. I don't see this in the slides, so I now discount the earlier observation. The out of focus region might simply have been outside of the depth of field in the other shots, although I thought it would have been inside. The images seem quite sharp and contrasty. I generally shoot it at f/16 (or a little smaller) at which aperture the entire focal range is within the depth of field. Since it's such a short lens I can shoot at 1/30 without worrying about excessive camera shake. The Russian lenses are variable in quality--Marc Small knows a good deal about the reputations of the various factories, but even if you got a lens from a "good" factory I would make sure it could be returned after you have a chance to evaluate it.
