I replaced the foam around the film window in both R3s I owned; if you
see any crumbling, you may be getting light leaks in the film chamber. 

The foams were $8.95 (ouch!) at a local shop in La Jolla (Bob Davis
Camera). Unfortunately a number of my shots from Costa Rica have large
red streaks across them due to the decayed foam.
