Though not an M, I use it with my CL & 40mm especially when I use XP2 and go
out to see the sights at things like markets, downtowns, special events,
etc. WIth the XP2, I can use f/11 or f/16 under almst all conditions. I just
set the hyperfocal distance and carry the camera. If I am in an area which
would not require infinity, then I will reset the distance to zone focus the
lesser distance.

I don't consider it unusual to do this, since several cameras I've owned
(including the Minix ML I now have) did not include rangefinders, either
coupled or uncoupled, and it was about the only way to use them.

From many prints that I have seen from Leica users which are somewhat
'fuzzy' at 8x10, I think that the genre who made the camera famous probably
disregarded the rangefinder somewhat often.
