The Novar was Zeiss Ikon's name for outside lenses, normally made by Rodenstock, Hensoldt, Steinheil, or the like. These are normally three-element lenses of creditable, but not outstanding, performance. The Contina with 2.8 Tessar, now, is rather rare and more interesting, as it was 'Zeiss Ikon's Answer' to the Vito B, a nice P&S if there ever was one.
