If it's anything like the UK, it's driven more by the availability of certain lenses which were aimed squarely at the press photographer. The 35mm-350mm Canon zoom is almost universal. I joined the UK press pack for an event a few weeks ago (something I've avoided for more than 10 years) and my arrival with an F2 & F3, complete with fixed focus lenses produced a reaction similar to that which I would have expected if I'd turned up with a Speed Graphic. > Has the Contax AX actually affected anyone's purchasing decisions? Not at all: too big, too heavy, too slow.
