They put three R8's and many other bodies and lenses for people to play with. I was talking to one of the German engineer and asked " I have heard that R8 body is so strong that a average weight man can stand on the top of it. Is that true? ". Guess what? That German engineer didn't say anything but put a R8 on the floor and asked me to stand on the top of it. He said " come on, you try it! If you break it I will give you a new one! ". He basically pushed me to stand on the top of a $4000cnd camera. Holy cow...that felt good!!! Ha. My opinion toward R8 is that: 1. it is not as heavy as it looks 2. mirror lock up is more convenient to use than R7 and R6.2 3. mirror slap has improved very much (better than R7 and R6.2 and definitely much better than R4s) 4. exposure compensation is very easy to use 5. exposure readings are easy to read on the view finder I am sure there are more good things about R8 which you can follow-up in the future.
