I bought it new from Kenny Hansen, just as they stopped making them. (It was for the CL/CLE series cameras; someone with a fact book handy can tell you the manufacturing details if that matters to you.) A caution you should be aware of is that it will not bring the 28mm frame into view in M cameras without a minor modification to the mount. I had it done when I got the lens and have never had a problem. Also, the bayonet lens shade gets a bit loose from time to time, but I easily fix that by squeezing the slotted base with needle-nose pliers. (Obviously, I'm a user, not a collector. Still, this lens is worth a lot more than the $250 I paid for it.) The lens quality is (IMHO) superb. One of the old Leica guys at (then) Rockleigh told me, "Half the weight and a damn fine lens." Incidentally, don't knock those "pure Minolta" caps. I picked up half a dozen back when they made them for this lens, and they've held up a lot better than my official Leitz plastic rear lens caps! cheers Bill Barrett Webster University St. Louis barrettb@websteruniv.edu http://www.websteruniv.edu/~barrettb
