The register of Leica R bodies relative to M42 bodies makes this
impossible; to accept an M42 lens and still focus at infinity a body
requires a flange to film distance less than that of an M42 body in
order to fit an adaptor in between. It will however be possible on a
Contax body, or an EOS body (those are the two I've managed to use M42
lenses on) and I think there are a few, but not many, more. See W-J M's
