They always seemed a bit less well built than does my IIIc, as if Leitz had been using up the remaining bits and pieces in their warehouse in preparation for the IIIf rd, with its different shutter assembly. And, while I've never seen the problem, many others seem to have experienced annoying difficulties with the synch timing on the IIIf bd -- the synch on one camera is 2 1/2, on another 3, on an0ther 1 1/2. The IIIf rd's don't seem to have this variation. Perhaps Leitz would have been better served to have simply installed two synch terminals (M and X) as they did on the M's.
