If I exchange the viewing screen for one of those Beattie type screens, will it make an effective improvement in the light level in the SLR viewfinder, and will it effect the light meter in any way?? I've had good success with the screen in the Rollie SL66 but am not sure about these SLR critters with the built in light meters etc. >> Norm: The use of the Beattie screen should not affect the metering since the R meters off of the multi-faceted mirror focused on the meter cell located in the bottom of the mirror box, instead of through the pentaprism as in other SLRs. I have not seen a comparison between the standard Leica screens and the Beattie screen. However, I don't think you could improve very much on perfection. :) Jay P.
