I saw the description in _Leica View_, which says it will hold an M6 with collapsible 50/2.8 Elmar. I'm wondering how big it actually is--would an M6 with a 35mm Summicron fit as well? And on the subject of cases, I found a very small nylon case in a Patagonia store which is exactly the right size for a screwmount Leica with a 50/3.5 Elmar. It's made by SunDog, and is called Backpacker's Camera Pocket, micro size (there's a mini size which I haven't seen). Mine cost $20. My IIIf fits as if the case was designed for it, and seems very well protected. There's no extra room in the camera part--a wrist strap will fit, but not a neck strap--but there is an outside pocket which will hold two rolls of film. It has a belt loop (which is what I use), a detachable neck strap, and two short velcro straps for attachment to a backpacking frame. I bring this up because with this case and a wrist strap, I find my screwmount Leica to be remarkably compact and handy to use. Though a bit heavier than a point-and-shoot, it's not much bigger, and if you want to carry a camera you can just about forget you have with you until you want it, this combination may work for you. How many screwmount users, regular or occasional, are on this list? Tom Knoles tgk@mwa.org
