Does anyone else find themselves as frustrated as I am with Leitz's brass
strap lugs?

My SS M3 got a new pair a while back, having seen a bit of use with a Viso
II/280 telyt (albeit mostly with the socket attached strap). They were
almost worn through after 20 years of amateur use. They were soft brass. Now
steel.

My M2 (>1,000,000) got a new pair recently, no Viso. Superbly done by John
Maddox for reasonable cost. Also soft brass originals, now steel.

Now my Leicaflex SL is wearing its lugs out. Also soft brass. Lenses are
heavy, of course.

The only one holding up fine is the DS M3. The lugs may be in thr wrong
place (too far out of balance) but they hold up fine. No brassing. Steel,
perhaps?

What gives, or am I the only one with this problem?
