Why shouldn't we be able to use a Zeiss Tessar 2.8/45 mm "pancake lens" on a Leica R 6 (would make the R6 a lot more attractive to me!). Leica does interact very strongly with other manufacturers on their R line stuff. Novoflex makes a focusing base for the 400mm and 560mm lenses, and that base is sold by Leica. Zeiss makes the 15mm Super-Elmar-R. Schneider makes a 21mm Super Angulon as well as the 28mm shift lens. Then there are the Minolta and Sigma lenses in the Leica R lineup. But I have to agree that selling lenses in other manufacturer's mounts would have been a good idea for Leica. Probably too late in these days of autofocus. Actually, here's a good possibility. Maybe the rumored Kyocera-manufactured 80-200 zoom means that Leica has partnered with Kyocera on the next body and it'll use the Contax AX autofocusing technology.
