When you have a $15,000 lens like the 400 Apo >Telyt, it's probably comforting that for at least three years you can really >use it. Hi Eric, The Passport warrenty is pretty much of a gimmick. The only time it comes in handy is when you are selling or buying used equipment, then it acts as a guarantee. Case in point. The passport warrenty does not cover you in case of loss or thieft...the two things which are most likely to happen. Plus the Passport is only good in the US. If a truck drives over you R7 in London, you are S.O.L. (short on luck) until you get back to the US. I have all of my equipment insurred for any possible loss anywhere. If someone sticks a gun in my face and whats my bag, he can have it... everything is covered for replacement value. If a truck runs over my R7 in London, I just call the insurance company and go out a get a new one. And, the cost for an individual piece of equipment is less then the $300 extra you have to pay for a Passport warrenty (which ofcourse is built into the price here in the US) Regards, Bill Erfurth Evergreen, CO
