I have a 1960 Leica catalogue in front of me...and the "list price" for a Leica m-3 with a 50mm f2 Summicron is $447.00...and then you could routinely get a 20% discount from most dealers... ...or to put it in Eric's terms...about one-week of my pay as a photojournalist for the Milwaukee Journal, at that time. Today, an m-6 body, sans lens is about $2400...or about two-three weeks photojournalistic pay... ...all of which explains why I gave up newspapering in 1970, to pursue the stock photography biz. ...so now I can afford m-6's and r-7's!!! ...and, so, the newspaper photojournalists, who could most benefit from these cameras, cannot afford them. Now there's a real pity! Cordially, Jack Hamilton Milwaukee, Wisconsin
