Hi Leica Users - Have I just been lucky or something? I've had my M6 for a year now and shot probably 100 rolls of film through it. I've never known this film leader thing to be a problem. I just drop in a roll of film and start winding. I sometimes look at the re-wind knob to watch it turn as I advance the film -- and it always does. I typically get 38 frames on a 36-exposure roll, rewind the film, take it out and put the next roll in. It's really no big deal. And I certainly don't even think of doing anything with the film leader. I wouldn't have time for such non-sense in this day and age. If someone had told me that one had to be so fussy with something as mundane as the film leader, like put a "hook" into the end, I would probably never have purchased an M6 and instead stuck with Japanese Wunderplastik. Those things load the film for you! (without a hook!!) Or is this a non-M6 problem? Happy shooting. -- Wolfgang =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Wolfgang Sachse Cornell University sachse@msc.cornell.edu http://www.msc.cornell.edu/~sachse =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
