If my memory is correct, it is designed by Minolta, not Leitz.  
I owned this lens with CLE and 40/2 but after a few year struggle, I sold. 
I do not like this lens because it's too contrasty.
It is extremely sharp and has good popularity in Japan (Japanese
photographer Shigeichi Nagano prefers this lens) but unlike Leitz lenses,
it's too contrasty and I gave up to tame it.
